Starting as a specialized machine manufacturer, Tongtai celebrates its 55th year this year and has become the leading machine tool manufacturer with the most extensive product line in Taiwan. Continuing the company's central axis of development through the concept of "Intelligence, Automation, Hybrid, Net zero, Servitization, New Industries, and New Processes" and introducing seven solutions, the company has initiated a two-axis transformation plan of digital and green transformation. It is firmly moving forward toward the goal of building an intelligent ecosystem of machine tools. Tongtai displays three machines during TMTS2024, including the MT-1500 Parallel Dual-Spindle Dual-Turret CNC Lathe, the HTT-500 Horizontal 5-Axis Machining Center, and the VP-12 Vertical Machining Center. The MT-1500 integrates a loading and unloading robot, dual spindles, and dual turrets for simultaneous machining. The design doubles production efficiency and provides a perfect solution for the machining industry's workforce shortage. The MT series features a smaller footprint, short travel distances, minimal idle time, and minimal thermal displacement. The TiOperator software enables the MT series to achieve efficient 24-hour operation effortlessly. The HTT-500 is the latest intensive production solution. It has an intelligent chip flushing system and an APC(auto pallet changer) system. It can also measure and compensate for spatial accuracy, solving the customer's difficulties in five-face machining. In contrast, the VP-12 is the individual machine with the robot and AGV transportation that enables unmanned material replenishment, meeting the demand for high efficiency and precision machining. In recent years, Tongtai has developed various intelligent software to help the operator grasp the data during machining by utilizing the machine and multiple sensors. It has a friendly operator interface, making production management more intuitive.

 

Another highlight of Tongtai this year is that it leads the integration of technology and art by introducing a pure titanium decanter for red wine entirely made from 3D printing. Additive manufacturing is a production method that, in contrast to the traditional subtraction process, can directly process a 3D digital model into a physical component. This process is colloquially known as “3D-printing”. Utilizing the Tongtai AMP-160 metal powder bed fusion machine achieves intricate structures that conventional industrial processes cannot accomplish. Applying Bernoulli's principle of fluid dynamics and diversion design, the decanter facilitates better flow and oxidation of red wine within it. Meanwhile, using pure titanium material enhances safety and health assurance during decanting. The exterior design takes inspiration from the Year of the Dragon, incorporating elements of dragon pillars from the authoritative art restoration of the Taiwan temple (TSJ Art Restoration), showcasing the perfect fusion of industry and culture. This decanter is a functional product and an artwork that combines artistry and creativity, allowing you to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture while enjoying wine.
